The release of PRR G41A coil cars by Tangent makes me more interested in this than ever. Has anyone seen photos or reports of coil steel cars moving on the Q to Mpls/StP? I know a lot of steel moved in covered gondolas per my wheel reports, but I have no true coiled steel cars. The closest is NYC 481375 which is a flat car converted for coil steel service with troughs and hoods (see http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nyc/nyc481312alr.jpg). That car was loaded and headed to A.B. McMahan Company via the Minnesota Transfer. So clearly coil steel was headed to Mpls/StP for customers there.

Gerald replied that he had spotted three or four of the green Q coild cars at Caterpillar in Peoria and was told they were assigned to Caterpillar. Can anyone confirm this?

Also still looking for recollections of true coil steel cars on the Q to Mpls/StP.
