There were two sets of plates applied to the shop built O-5s. The early 1930 Baldwins had a standard 9.25” builders plate on each side, with a unique construction number. I used to own one from 5604.

The shop-built versions had rectangular class plates with “W. Burlington” on them and the date. These were on the cylinders. On the boilers were the 9.25” “Extra Order” style 3-hole builders plate. I own one from 5634. These carried one c/n that covered a group of boilers. From what I’ve seen, the year on these often predates the year on the cylinder plate by a year (ie boiler completion date vs locomotive completion date).
