Though in retrospect, the efforts here would have required careful technical skills, as opposed to today's digital photography and software, which would create this mimicry with ease! Impressive, the former analog methods....

A little trickery in the darkroom can be cheaper and faster than sending two trains with crews and a photographer out to the boonies for a shot, to say nothing of how that might cause havoc on a busy mainline. Pat Egan
