I have forwarded builder’s photos for the ScaleTrains series of gons with covers and have strongly suggested that they consider tooling them, if not for this release, for future releases. I’m not aware if any drawings still exist. If they don’t do them, I will consider if it will be something I could produce.

It strikes me that we have very few gondola covers, despite the fact that there were a lot of covered gondolas out there, CB&Q and other roads as well.
Does anyone on the list, or perhaps even the BRHS Archives, have good drawings of any of the CB&Q gondola covers? If not actual drawings, what about information on who actually made the covers? It would be great to get drawings so that they could be passed on the Scaletrains.com or perhaps someone could make something up for 3D printing.
CB&Q 83300-83399 built in 1965 I believe are virtually identical to the Scaletrains.com new Havelock 52' 6" gondolas (series 83400-83499 built in 1967) except maybe for some differences in ladders vs. grab irons. But 83300-83399 came with removable covers. It would be great to get these for backdating the Scaletrains.com gondolas. Perhaps some of the 83400-83499 also got covers?
