Thanks for posting this sheet and thanks to Steve for creating it.

Looking at the November 1962 figures, I note that of the 23 cars (9 x 40’, 14 x 50’), only five were CB&Q and there doesn’t seem to be any indication of their length nor whether they are Mather lease cars. Also the CB&Q had other 50’ stock cars (50500-50599) at that time. Was there a second sheet showing further details?

The attached is from Steve Holding's presentation on livestock (hog) traffic from Roseville, Illinois. Steve gave this presentation several annual meets ago and had a great handout analyzing the traffic in/out of a end of branch station.

The table shows the first 50' stock cars in November 1962. The Mather cars did not come into use at Roseville until September 1965.

Based on the ORER’s, it appears that all but 40 of the 40’ cars were returned to NACC between May 1965 and August 1966 and, in the same period, the 50’ cars were leased. Then, between May and August 1967, all the leased cars were returned.

There is a photo of a 50’ car behind GP-7 #264 in BRHS Slide Set 4 – Stock Cars, dated April 1966, the earliest I have been able to find.

There is still a big gap between May 1965 and April 1966, and a smaller gap between February and August 1960. Does anyone have an ORER for either of those periods, or any data on the leases?
