[CBQ] Sand Company at Oregon,IL.

David Jordan  posted the following :“It should be noted that CBQ 182544, a 
covered hopper which suffered a broken journal and caused the TP&W derailment 
at Crescent City, Illinois on June 21, 1970, was loaded at the Oregon mine.”

As FYI there will be an article I wrote for Friends of the BN in “The 
Expeditor” in an upcoming future issue that discusses at length hot boxes on 
sand cars (and a few others), the causes and the results in the 1970s. None to 
the extreme of Crescent City.
