The Q truss turntables themselves had no drive nor drive wheels. The center 
pivot was the main bearing and the main weight carrier. The small wheels on 
both sides at both  ends of the turntable served mainly as support as locos 
were moved on and off the table. The loco weight had to be fairly well centered 
with minimum weight on the end wheels or the turntable would not move. You can 
think of the shack structure as a tractor that pulled or pushed the turntable 
around. It had the motor, gears, and one big drive wheel to move the turntable. 
If the loco was not fairly well centered over the tables center bearing then 
that table driver under the shack could not turn the table. So sometimes extra 
weight was added  the shack's drive structure to increase the traction of the 
driver wheel.
