An Athearn CB&Q F7 (incorrectly painted Silver in the freight scheme) with 
Hi-Fi rubber band drive, X2f couplers, no window glass and no headlight, cost 
$6.95 in 1958.
That equates to $62.00 in 2020 dollars.
While that doesn't buy you a Genesis sound equipped F unit detailed to match 
CB&Q, you could buy that same shell, with upgraded trucks and pickup system, a 
much better gear drive and motor, lit dual headlights, full window glass, 
knuckle couplers for $72 MSRP.   At least you could....an internet search 
indicates that the venerable F7 is a retired model from Athearn!
