Hello Rick and All -

A couple of earlier photos, taken at West Quincy, Missouri, in 1952-'53    PAW

Hol,

I am modeling 240 and 261, both are reported as still in the blackbird scheme at the time of the merger.  I am specifically modeling 1967 so any late 60's information would be useful.  I have pictures of 240 in 1965 still wearing the original sill number, in the absence of other information, I would suspect it remained that way until the merger.

Thanks,

Ricky

Hol,

Thanks.

I have an inquiry out to some folks in Omaha that might have photographs of the two motors I am modeling (240 and 261).  It seems the Lines West motors are a bit more shy about getting their pictures taken than the Lines East 🙂

I can move the start date back to at least 1958 with this Bernard Corbin photo at Barstow on Aug. 31, 1958.

All,

I am in the process of renumbering some Walthers GP7s.  The stock model has the black number on the sill in the yellow band.  However, it appears the Q started moving the numbers below the herald on the cab and they are white, like the SD7/9.  When did the Q start changing over the style?  I have found pictures of the early style as late as 1970 and the newer style as early as 1960.

Thanks,

Ricky Keil
