Rupert,
That is interesting regarding other roads.  Some CMSP&P trains had both Pullman operated and company operated tourist cars in the same train with sleeping car conductors for both types!   Not sure if the Q had company operated sleepers, possibly just the short period before the 1970 merger.

Other possibilities for info on CB&Q Sleepers would be the Pullman Company "Descriptive List of Cars" that would list any cars leased to Pullman, but that would all be post 1948.  I've seen them for 1950 & 1961.  Cars are listed alphabetically, not by road.

I wondered if there was a listing of sleepers serviced by Pullman but was advised by the owner of the ORPTE that thee was no separate listing for Pullman. Also that other companies included sleepers in their lists.

Rupert,

This is just a guess, the sleepers would have been owned by the CB&Q, but leased to Pullman for operation.  Don't know if that could be the reason or not.

I’ve just received the CB&Q pages from the 1963 Official Register of Passenger Train Equipment, the equivalent of the ORER.

Although it seems to list most passenger-related equipment including baggage, mail and express equipment, it doesn’t include sleepers. Any suggestions why they were omitted?

If anyone has copies of other ORPTE’s or can help with the ORER’s listed below, I’d be very grateful to obtain copies of the Burlington, etc. pages.

As part of my next BRHS project, I’ve been collecting ORER pages for the CB&Q and its subsidiaries between 1885 and 1970. I am now searching for specific years to fill in gaps and I’m hoping that you may be able to assist.

The two major gaps are 1886 and 1889, with individual pages needed from 1887, 1892, 1898, 1899, 1900, 1902 and 1906.

If you can help with this project, please contact me at gamlenz @ hotmail.com.

Thank you.
