Hi Jim,
Thank you for the information. Do you mind if I forward this onto my decal guy. I’m only having numbers done and possibly model plates. Where the number boards 6-8" high then. I’m sure that he’d need that info as well.
Depending on how well they come out, I’ll ask if he’d be willing to do runs for Q Connection so others can enjoy them.
Thank You Again, Randy Doman
Randy: What you are looking for is not actually font in the normal sense. The Block Gothic lettering used with the Chinese Red scheme was a guide to cut stencils for the paint shop crews. Micro scale usually just uses available artist fonts that are close to desired lettering, not necessarily a match. Included is a sheet of letters and numbers I use for laying out decal art work, It is copied directly from the Q artwork. The numbers used on Chinese Red units are 12-inches high. I hope this helps. Jim Sandrin Hi Everyone,
I’m looking for the proper font to do Chinese Red Locomotives. I’ve noticed that the number 'one' has a different look to it. I’d like to get it close as I can. Sorry for counting rivets. It just stands out to me and I’d like for it to be correct.
I have the Micro Scale 87-15 descale set and that doesn’t look correct.
Any help would be very helpful.
Thanks,
Randy Doman
