That same seller also had several negatives of EMD 100, Diesel Locomotive Instruction Car, a heavyweight combine.

Thanks!

The units must have been just delivered by EMD from their plant in McCook as the roofs are pristine with no diesel exhaust soot evident.

As Leo stated the Zephyr Pit view is most interesting. The photos were shot looking south from Roosevelt Road with Canal Street to the right or west. The train shed was maintained with the main diesel shop being constructed immediately to the north where the units are sitting. Additional maintenance  buildings and the car shops were constructed to the south. Crooks Terminal warehouse is the large building farther south.

The Zephyr Pit expansion took place between 1943 and 1945.

Dave, hopefully the guy bidding on these is successful or we could be SOL!

Charlie,

There are actually three views for sale. The others show the top of the A unit and the third may be the rear end of a B unit showing the steam generator fittings. The views are attached. These are negatives for sale, so if purchased, better copies should be possible.
