Dennis,

I am not sure that I understand your question. The train is westbound in the photo which was taken on June 17, 1940. The convention in Minneapolis started the next day from June 18 - 22, 1940. I believe the train traveled on the Q the entire distance, via Savanna and then up the river through LaCrosse on the same route that the Twin Cities Zephyrs ran. I don’t know why they would route the train any other way.

It would be interesting to know just how the Kiwanis cars were forwarded on to Minneapolis, i.e. via CNW or CGW at Omaha, the Rock Island Omaha/Des Moines, or some other more exotic routing, not excluding CBQ via Chicago.
