When I qualified for passenger service my uncle, who would retire only a few months later, gave me a few of the money clips in their original wrappers. He used one for his bills on the dinkies as a collector.
If I can locate them I'll see if there's any additional info on the paper wrapper. I don't recall any Conductor or trainman using them. I tried but it seemed more trouble than it was worth and just used the big wad of bills stuffed in the uniform pocket that was almost the 100% method utilized.

There have been several offerings on eBay of a money clip with a Burlington Route herald on the front. Does anyone know anything about these, such as when these were made?
