Today’s modelers may discount the level of work that was done in the distant past….
…..some super detailing was done right from the brink of history of models. Some patent and exposition models were outstanding even by today’s standards.
Of course it was to some degree easier “back in the day” because you could request and get drawings from the railroads and go out to the track to get measurements and photos!

The photos show a great amount of detail for the time which just illustrates what a good modeler he was. The short article was very complimentary towards Bernie and the photos show a wide range of Q steam power. That he modeled the Galesburg shop switcher was interesting.
