The Western Ave map dates from the early 1910s so hard to say what agreements were in place at that time. We had a discussion of Chicago transfers earlier on this group so by checking the history you'll find quite a wide conversation.

It's my understanding that each road delivered to the other and then went back home caboose hop. When this came into being I can't say. Do know I witnessed it at Cicero into the 1970s. There was usually a nice collection of foreign cabooses on the ice company tracks from crews that had gone dead on the hog law.
