were two trackages, streetcar and Milwaukee? But the bike path was the
Milwaukee? Or part of each?

Your mother was talking about the Chicago,Aurora and De Kalb interurban. It
operated on Aurora street car tracks from downtown to just across the Qs W.
Batavia branch. This was later part of the steel yard at Barber Greene. There
was an interchange track with the Q at that location. From there it ran
straight west to and through Bliss woods. Exited the woods near the Q Gravel
spur, crossed what became
rate. 47 and then paralleled Harper road to Kaneville, from there it ran NW to
Maple Park, then paralleled the CNW to De Kalb. The line only lasted from
approx 1910-1921. Henry Ford killed it and many others. I have quite a
collection of maps,photos,etc on the line and will someday write an article on
it.
