According to my August 1969 Official Guide of the Railways Marsland was still a scheduled stop.  Belmont is listed in the index as "On the line indicated but not shown in the timetable."

My thanks to all who replied, and for the story about it. Does anyone have a timetable for that period who can advise if Belmont and Marsland (between Hemingford and Crawford) were still shown at that time?

The incident where the westbound train was stopped at Hemingford and the passengers bused to their destinations occurred on August 14, 1969.  After public outcry over this, a court ordered that the trains be kept in operation for an additional ten days, so the last runs took place August 24, 1969.

If you are looking for the exact date be careful. I think the CB&Q stopped the last westbound #43 at Hemingford, NE (between Alliance and Crawford) when the train-off petition was granted and went into effect. Therefore that train never made it to Crawford on the "last day" that #43 departed Alliance. I don't know if the eastbound train #42 went thru Crawford before the petition was granted or not? But if not, then the "last day" for passenger train service at Crawford was actually one day earlier than train-off.
