Nope, that's it on the Q.  Of course C&S 706 and FW&D 263 and 265 were painted aluminum, too.

List,

With the exception of HW diner/lounges 172 and 176 (and the FW&D #171), were any other 170 and 180 series HW diners painted silver/aluminum?
My research cannot find any.
Thanks,

Tom Schneid

Hol,

Thank you for your answer.  I had sort of come to this conclusion by looking at available photos, but I wanted to make sure.

No, none of the modernized heavyweights with Thermopane windows employed tinted glass; they all had clear glass.

This summer I ordered two NKP Car Co kits (MB-22 Heavyweight
RPO/Baggage & DA-5 Modernized Heavyweight Diner/Lounge) which are both
going to become SSS cars with Silver Paint. These kits are comprised of
photo-etched brass sides, resin roofs & ends and plastic underframes.
Since I have never attempted this type of kit before, I am taking my
time and I must say the MB-22 RPO/Baggage (two window version) is
progressing along very nicely. Before I start the DA-5 Diner/Lounge, I
have a question. Since I am going to build either the SSS #172 or #176,
with modernized Thermo-Pane windows, did the 'Q' use tinted glass in them?
