Just ran across a photo in the Fall 2014 issue of Classic Trains magazine of the huge Koppers coke plant in St Paul. The photo has both a GN red gondola and an Rock Island red hopper car. I did a bit of web searching and also found info saying Illinois coal was used at Koppers. 1. How much if any of the Koppers coke moved on the Q? It would seem that some might go to the steel mills in Chicago and/or Granite City, which would mean a move to Savanna and then east or south. 2.
