Don't know about the mid- to late-1960s, but I've got some Peoria Terminal
Company billing memorandums from 1974-1977 which show corn syrup tank cars
loaded at Corn Products Co.'s Pekin wet corn mill for G. Heileman in La
Crosse, WI...via BN of course. Billing is shown as "Board and Lease."
Examples of equipment were CCLX 1130, CCLX 968 and CCLX 416 in October 1974.
I show CCLX 3107, CCLX 432, CCLX 1128, CCLX 1109 and CCLX 1134 billed there
in June 1977 and CCLX 333, CCLX 803, CCLX 843, CCLX 496, CCLX 1031, UTLX
76978 and CCLX 1039 in July 1977. Certainly, many of these were in service
the prior decade.
Samples from 1975 and 1976 show no corn syrup movements from Pekin to La
Crosse, so perhaps G. Heileman's primary source was Corn Products' Summit
Argo plant?
