Looking at a drawing of 9769 - the last revision is dated May 1953 – it is shown prior to the double end conversion. However, the RPO section has already been removed. My spreadsheet indicated that the conversion to baggage only and double ending was done at the same time but this drawing indicates to the contrary. The only photo I have of 9769 prior to this is on page 37 of Richard Kistler’s High Plains Route, dated 1948.

 

Does anyone have any later photos to tie down when the RPO section was removed and when double end controls were fitted?
