Geesh Leo, does that make me feel old. If you'd be 3 then I'd be 4 in Train Service. Wonder where in Engine. Any idea who's top there? I saw Barney Joe running a dinky a few years back. Do they still recognize prior rights?

And I should add that BRHS member Roger Field now has 50 plus years and is #1 on the seniority roster by a long margin. Yours truly would be #3 if still working and my brother is currently #3 and he's almost two years behind me. My old braking partner from the C&I pool days is #2.

Pete,

On the Q a star represented 25 years. Each bar was 5 years. Worked with
Lots of guys on the dinkies in the 70s with a star and 3 or 4 bars. Don't recall any one with two stars. But there were switchman and engineers who reached 50 years but they didn't have a way
To display it.

Go to page 27 in the recent BRHS Bulletin 51 to see the longevity of the Eola switchman. #1 has 44 years. I have a couple earlier seniority lists with several yardman north of 50 years shown.

This is a question that I'm sure Leo and anyone else of his vintage and experience can answer....I'm embarresed that I can't remember, but I was asked the question and I need. help.

The passenger trainmen wore stars and bars on their uniform sleeves which signified their years of service.

I think that the Stars represented 5 or was it 10 years and the bars a single years and was their another emblem which came into play for long term service like 25 years.

Leo or someone else  please help....

Pete
