While not 100% sure. This scene looks to be at the coaling facility at Mendota looking east.
The advance track is the one on the right. That's MS tower in the distance. The engine facility
And water tank are behind and to the right of photographer. The switch in front of the photographer is the yard lead. There's a reverse view of this scene in Volume 1 Of CB&Q in color on page 63 looking west.
The only thing holding me back is that the coal loading chutes for main two and the advance are
Not present. They may have been removed by the time of this photo.

There is a slide listed on eBay of an early 60's Q steam fantrip that has now been listed several times.

It says it is Savanna, IL but it is clearly at a mainline coaling station. Every photo I have seen of Savanna bound fantrips show the locomotive(s) taking on coal at the Savanna roundhouse,
so my guess is that this slide is a Savanna fantrip but the coaling tower is somewhere else along the line. I would think this location would be easy to identify as it is on the mainline. Where is it?
