Thread-topic: [CBQ] Bay View

Phil, Bud, and Randy:  On the alignment chart, page HN-131 dated 3-23-67, Bay View is shown next to a grade crossing at MP 68.24, and a shelter is shown also.  The newest Hannibal Division ETT that I have showing Bay View is #94, dated September 27, 1953.  Bay View is not shown in the Stations column, but is listed in the Footnotes as a flag stop for #109 and #110, along with a number of other stations.  This footnote also includes the MP 68.24 reference.

Hello Phil and all -  While researching numerous timetables for the Carthage branch chapter in the Quincy Branch book, I found a reference to a flag stop around the Rock Creek area called Bay View.  I cannot recall what timetable it was in, perhaps a project when I return home in the Spring.  Bud Linroth.

Hello Erik and All –
Did anyone researching this line find any reference to BAY VIEW, Illinois?
In 1953 I took a photo of the local freight just north of the Quincy yard,
passing a station sign (not a depot) that said BAY VIEW.  It was done in
the typical Q font, white lettering on a black board.  A wooden paddle
was on a pivot on the post nearest the track, perhaps to signal a flagstop.

I have not been able to find BAY VIEW in the ETTs or Official Guides and
apparently it has not been found on any track charts.

Any thoughts?????        PAW

A local family built a nice cabin across a creek near Ursa using the concrete abutments of the CB&Q bridge
