I was wondering about the Fox River Branch.

I was in Ottawa this summer and there were miles and miles of cars sitting on 
the rails.

       Just learned from someone who physically went and
 checked it out. The Qs former Fox River Branch mainline
 between Ottawa and Streator is currently being used to store
 idle sand covered hoppers. Many of them brand new right out
 of the mfg. plants.
 
 
 
 I'm sure the current operator is enjoying the storage
 fees,but if history is any predictor(and it usually is)
 that's night a good sign for the future of the line.
