Which railroad book were you looking at when you encountered this picture?
I am curious now as to why this car was in Long Island, NY in the first place.
It seems that would be an awfully long way to be routed from Wichita to
Seattle. Also, how would it get to Long Island? This car would be way too
big to go through a railway tunnel under the Hudson River, and I doubt it would
have gone on a car ferry.
A more likely scenario is that the photo was mis-captioned.
