Pete, I definitely appreciate the reply and info. on this obscure question... I actually did reach out to Mr. Kistler on a recommendation from my Dad, and unfortunately he wasn't able to share much more info. on the decades of the 30's and 40's - except to postulate that the cars used before the motor car converts arrived were probably pretty old and primitive leftovers from earlier times. I definitely know which photo you're referring to with the one car local ready to leave Wymore, as it was one that I zeroed in on trying to answer this question previously. It's too bad an earlier photo hasn't come to the surface!
