I did a little more research. Carpenters 1946 RR atlas shows a small NYC yard along the south leg of the wye. Since the Q ETT doesn't show coal but the postcard does show a small coal handling facility next to the roundhouse,while not definitive,I'm leaning toward the rdhse. Being

ETT 43 of April 1925 shows water but not coal at Zearing. The IV&N Wayfreight comes over from Streator and turns at Zearing. There is a local that leaves Zearing 3 days a week,goes to Kasbeer  and returns to Zearing. Can't seem to find out what it does the other 3 days and there's no notation of it coming from elsewhere. Also the stock p/u doesn't operate on Friday so it's not that job making a side trip.
