Group - perhaps 1432 was being repainted and portions of her were in primer.

I wonder if this gray over black led to the livery on switchers that is often called "Blackbird".

Ruper - Good question! Attached is another image of 1432, this time with a solid paint job on its cab. No other information on the image. If nothing else, these images will give modelers a good view of both sides of the switcher. Best Regards - Louis

I notice that the top half of the cab (and the bulk of the boiler) is much lighter in colour than the rest of the loco and the tender, and I can’t remember this issue being previously discussed. Looking at other locos suggests that they might also have paler cabs, although the difference is not pronounced. Comments?
