This was known as Yender Road.  Yender Farm was located on Ogden Avenue, now a big auto dealership, and had a farm store.  We bought eggs and chickens there when I was a young kid in the 1950'smwhen we would go to Mendota Lake (Mendota, IL) to fist and swim.  Lake Mendota was a small spring fed man make lake to provide locomotive water to the CB&Q, Milw Road and IC where they crossed and connected.  I still don't know who really owned it and built it (CB&Q?).  All those growing up years, I wasn't aware until recently on this website that it was railroad built and owned.  Anyway, the Yender Farm House as been saved and relocated next the the Lisle Depot historic area.  Apparently the Yender family was well known in the area.

Richard Forst, former Brookfield, IL resident and former CB&Q (Summer) Relief Agent/Operator in the late 1960's until the BN Merger.
