This mine was served by the Q...Novinger was (is) on the old QO&KC between Kirksville,   and Milan'  Novinger is where the I&St.L  (Iowa and St. Louis), running from Sedan, IA south down the Chariton River Valley crossed the KC&O.  First town south of Novinger was South Gifford..There was a small depot..cutdown remnant of the original I think..I took a photo of it about 15 years ago.

As most of you know there were many mines along this route as well as the K&W and H&S across southern Iowa.

Group - Here's an interesting image (inserted and attached) of Q steel gondola 173724 spotted to load coal with other steel and wood gondolas on a siding at the Rombauer Mine No. 2 in Novinger, MO, during 1918:

Was this coal mine served by the Q or some other railroad? Best Regards - Louis
