This is the closest I have come up with Railway Age Gazette 1/28/1916
It helps to read thru every page of the old magazines

James, why not have shapeways print the mold for you? You may be shocked at the injection molding costs...
Here in Seattle, we have an outfit called Fathom who will print almost anything for you. Most bigger cities have these types of service bureaus now. I have had them print injection molding tool inserts out of digital ABS and successfully shot parts in common plastics with them. Each set of tools only yields about 35 parts before they flash or delaminate.

Hi All,

Over the past several months, I've been working on trying to get
dimensions of the Pillars used for the Covered Platforms at Aurora, IL
Depot. I'm working on having these made as a part, and I've come up with
the following 3D drawing.

My inquires for dimensions on the pillars came up blank last time, so
I've done what I believe is the best guess, based on known dimensions in
various photographs that I used to make design the part.

Let me know what you think, if it looks right, looks too big, too small,
etc... and I'll make adjustments. Plan is to have these done in
Injection Molded Styrene, as so many of them are needed for the 3
platforms / six tracks at Aurora, places such as Shapeways would be cost
prohibitive for production.

James
