I have an undated scan of the 9845 at La Salle IL that I downloaded about
14 years ago... I may have grabbed it from Ebay or some other web site.

Also a 1958 photo of CB&Q 9767 at St Joseph in aluminum paint. Were any other
Q gas-electrics painted this way?

Thanks for the clarification regarding the eBay pirate and the photo of 9845. I didn't think it felt right.

Also, thanks for the link to the outstanding Otto Perry photo of train #42 at Billings. The Denver Public Library is a real treasure.

This eBay seller pirates every image he can lay his hands on and then sells poor quality duplicate slides or low res scan prints of them with no real idea of what or where they are.  This photo was actually taken in the late 1950s when the 9845 was in use on the run from Creston, Iowa, down to St. Joseph, Mo.  So, no, it's not in Montana.  But during the Depression the Q did indeed run a motor car all the way to Billings on the line from Lincoln and Alliance.  Motor cars 9767 and 9768 were used on the run, and here's a link to an Otto Perry view of 9768 and its single combine at the Billings depot:  http://cdm16079.contentdm.oclc.org/cdm/singleitem/collection/p15330coll22/id/63399/rec/2
