Thank you, Doug and John, and also Robert, who wrote me off-list. It all makes a lot more sense now. That's an excellent picture of the Soo Line chute. I wish it were slightly larger, but the sand hopper is clearly visible. Can you interpret any more details in this photo? What are the two buildings to the left of coal chute? I'm guessing one is probably the drying room, the other maybe houses the engine that powers the hoist? I see what looks like a pipe or cable going from the leftmost building diagonally up to the bottom of the chute. Do you know what it is? Thanks again, Jonathan Harris
