Michael, I don't have firm answers for you, but when I got started in model railroading I bought a Kalmbach book on building a layout that included LaCrosse. It was set in the BN era and the line depicted went through town. Duncan Cameron ----- Original Message ----- From: Michael Matalis mmatalis@sprynet.com [CBQ] To: Q Sent: Friday, May 30, 2014 4:26 AM Subject: [CBQ] La Crosse WI I am trying to get a handle on the timeline of events involving the Q thru La Crosse WI. At one time the Q had a line that went thru downtown La Crosse; was this the original line, or was it built at the same time as the freight bypass east of town? If the freight bypass was built after the line thru downtown, when did this happen? And last but not least, when was the line thru downtown abandoned? You find yourself asking the darndest questions at 3 a.m........ Thank you kindly, Michael Matalis Downers Grove IL You can see my railroad photography blog at http://www.chasingheavymetal.com/blog/ You can see my photos and my ugly mug at http://www.flickr.com/photos/prairierailfan/sets/ And you can now find me on Facebook |
