While I work in O Scale it should work for HO as well. I make a jig using a photo copy of the hand rails needed then glue it to the backer board from a pad. Cut pieces small enough to fill all the gaps leaving only the slots for the wire. Cut the wire and fill the jig. It takes longer to cut the wire then it does to soldier it together and clean up is a snap. Try it Steve in SC ________________________________ From: "sd70mac@cox.net" <sd70mac@cox.net> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, April 24, 2014 9:05 AM Subject: [CBQ] More on Ne-12 Waycars I agree that the Bachmann waycar has the shape down spot on. If I recall correctly you might want to plug one of the end windows - but check a plan to be sure. I have a Q silver one and a green BN one pretty far along, but packed away not quite finished. The weak point for me was Bachmann end railing and ladder plastic piece. I wanted something finer in profile, but my attempts at soldering one together just didn't work out. I remember rumors of a cast piece in the works, but I don't think it ever happened. Might be an idea for 3D printing? Tom Smith |
