Greg The first I have found is in "Railway Age" Nov. 20, 1967 "CB&Q Mobilizes its Branch-Line Agents" The cover and a four page article about the agent at Aledo, Ill The van was a radio-equipped Ford P400 painted Red on the bottom a black strip on the middle and white top. Had a 8 X 12 birch-plywood office with desk three draw cabinet and six foot settee for customers Vans were put in service two in Feb, and one each in Oct and Nov. 1967. An agent was kept at the most important station with the mobile agent serving in this case Joy, Viola, Gilchrist and New Windsor. The 60's was a period of parring down labor costs this was just one of many Catch my clinic at Rock Island in Sept. at the Annual Meeting for more on the same.
