Kent Hannah and I sought out as much coverage as we could get of the full range
of structures in the area covered by this volume. What you see in the book is
indicative of what people were ready to loan us.
I'm sure that older material will surface now that the book has been published;
that usually is the case. Kent and I are presently at work on volume 2, which
covers the Hannibal Division, and we are seeking material on the remaining
divisions. If you have any images, especially older ones, please contact me!

My thanks to Ray and Roy for sending along their reviews of the book. I think
I will wait and take a look at the book at the next meet before I take a chunk
of my hobby money and spend it. I was hoping it would have almost all of the
important structures from Chicago out and over the C&I as well as a
comprehensive photo album of passenger depots in suburban territory.

IMO, it isn't too bad. All color so there are a lot of modern photos, many with
BN equipment along side the structure, maybe 1/3 of the photos are after the
merge. Although there are some earlier shots, and even a some with steam
engines.
I personally didn't find it that important to have, but I bought it before I
really scanned it at the local hobby shop that sold it for $40, so I didn't
feel it was out of my budget.
I guess I was looking for a lot more photos, older ones at that, of structures
other than stations; coaling towers, switch towers, maintenance facilities,
roundhouses, etc.
So, if you want a taste of Q facilities, it's not too bad of a book, IMO.
