Bob - I do not know (doubtful any records exist, either), but I'd  
speculate that since inside-connection was considered archaic in US steam  
locomotive design by that time, No. 9 was converted to conventional  
outside-connection. It almost certainly would've received a standard full  size 
tender, too.
