Noel...I wondered if what you wrote about the KC&O being actually being built by St. J and GI might be so..but had never heard it for sure. Thanks for providing that detail...
Speaking of "junk yard"...the former Wilcox depot is...or was some years ago located in a junk yard at Wilcox...
The depot from Burress is located off site in the Manning Grain Company complex..Well preserved and in use as their office.

Not really mislabeled. St.J&GI was a UP subsidiary who built the line originally and turned it into the KC&O almost immediately after it was completed. The Q did acquire it in 1907. I know knit picking but what the hey. I am very glad to see the McCool Junction depot has been preserved. Even has a BN green way car. Spring Ranch needs help. Starting from Benedict Neb to McCool Junction, to Lushton, Spring Ranch, Roseland and Alma were originally built by St.J &GI/UP and that is why they all look like early UP buildings. I have a CD in this junk yard of many of the Q depots made several years ago. My CD drive is down, but when I can get it fixed will see if I can post it.
