As explained in BB #7 on the XM-32 boxcars, this car was repainted red, white and blue at Havelock in January 1948 as the Burlington's participation in the nationwide Abraham Lincoln Friendship Train sponsored by CROP, an American relief organization that sponsored the collection of canned goods and other food for those impacted by the war in Europe.  There are many photos of the train was it strted collecting cars on the West Coast and progressed cross-country to the East Coast, eventually totaling nearly 100 cars that were unloaded and shipped to Europe.  Most roads didn't go to the trouble of repainting a car for the train, but the publicity-conscious Q did.  The car was repainted back to mineral red after it completed its mission.

OK, I am attaching a photo of what is listed as a FRIENDSHIP TRAIN from 1946. Is this just someones idea of a "what if" car or did the Q really have a car painted like this?

The car can be seen in the PHOTOS section, in a folder titled FRIENDSHIP TRAIN.

Would like to know if this is a Q car.
