IIRC a Wabash operator was fired on the spot for not delivering orders to my Grandfathers train in regards to a change in orders reguarding a switching move at Milan Federal Prison. The orders were DO NOT SWITCH THE PRISON and Gramps and the crew were damn near shoot on site when they unlocked the gate leading into the prison switch lead. The whole crew was ready to string up that operatorI guess it was lucky he was fired lol

"A missed train order was an automatic
firing of the telegraph operator".

I never heard of that, so when I walked away from the track because the hoghead didn't dim the head light and made him stop I should have been fired. I guess when a steel strap snags the TO before the rear end got it I should have been fired.
