Aha, this explains why I haven't been able to find a shot of the depot in my collection!  I started taking photos in the summer of '73!

I recall a freight derailment that destroyed the old CB&Q depot at Belmont Ave in Downers Grove, IL. For some reason, I cannt find the date (which I thought was circa mid-1970s). What was the date of this derailment?
