Andy,

He answered many of my specific detailed questions since I have done some fairly extensive research on the line. Contact me off list with your specific questions; as while the F&IU fed business to the friendly Q it's really not a Q subject for this list.

I would also recommend a recent BRHS Zephyr in which Steve Holding covered some of the F&IU. I can't recall the issue # but the company store at the web site can help. Also there's a 1977 issue of the Chicago,Aurora & Elgin HS that covers the F&IU in some depth that can be found from time to time on ebay or used books on Amazon. Additionally the F&IU is coverd extensively in Hopkins Stolp Peffers volume 4 dated 1993 covering all the "Third Rail Family of lines" and connections. The Illinois Railway museum was selling this volume for only $10 at the Kane County RRiana show last fall. When printed these were expensive volumes. Shows how the interest has waned.

Also a Kendall County plat map dated prior to 1939 will show the line and the city conenctions at Yorkville.

Leo
