Yes, I was aware of the rumors that certain "high ranking members" attitude toward the Q. I once was a member of the GNHS, but cancelled my subscription several years ago. It's their loss. 

When you see that a lot of the railroad historical groups, including the GNHS, are loosing memberships, one would think that joining forces would help preserve the history, and increase membership for everyone.

Glad to know that the NP does not feel that way. I have a lot of commitments financially this year, but I am still hoping that I can make the trip to Billings.

It's not the the BRHS didn't want to make it a joint convention.  There are certain high ranking members of the GNRHS that want nothing to do with anything related to the Q.  The NP group does not have that mentality, hence the invitation to their meet this summer in Billings.

Interesting to see the GNRHS is having a convention in the Chicago area, since there really was no GN operations east of their main hub in Minn/St. Paul. Would have been nice if the BRHS could have made it a joint convention. Makes me wish I lived back in the Chicago area in stead of California - but then I just heard that Chicago is getting hit with sever cold and snow. Oh well, have to go out and cut my grass now!
