There is nothing about the incident referred to...I have tried over the years to figure  what determines which incidents are listed on the Special Collections list and have "come up dry"...There are some very serious incidents with loss of life not listed and there are some on the list which involved no injuries or loss of life which I would consder "trivial"...Who knows????

I tried looking at the ICC accident reports and could not find any incident for a motor car as described, even for other roads.  I would of thought it would be there but maybe not all accidents with loss of life are listed

I maintain a spreadsheet of motor cars (copy on the BRHS website) which includes details of disposals, and there were several cars dismantled at Lincoln during the 50's.  However, none are recorded as having been burnt out.

Hol,
Do you have any information on the collision of a gas-electric and a truck at the US 81 crossing in McCool Junction, Nebraska in the mid fifties? The truck knocked the gas-electric on it's side and she caught fire and burned. The engineer got out by kicking out the roof hatch. The train was on it's way to Lushton NB on the old KC&O line. I remember seeing the burned out hulk across from the depot in York, NB. Any info would be nice.
Thanks,
George N. Crawford  (Noel)
