I'm curious if CB&Q intended to start some kind of future Peoria-Galesburg Zephyr Connection service (with Denver, Minneapolis and Omaha through coaches/sleepers?). Peoria-Chicago would have required wyeing the train at Yates City and using the Buda Branch (unless run via Galesburg), and wouldn't have been competitive with the Rock Island's Peoria Rockets.
