It would have to have been heavyweight equipment as none of the individual prewar cars had been built yet.  The other shovelnoses were two small and didn't have Pullman accommodations.

I believe the new (1936) Denver Zephyr trainsets entered service on November 7, 1936, so CB&Q took the train off its normal assignment. Maybe the Q substituted other Zephyr equipment for the missing DZ? The CB&Q used the Mark Twain Zephyr and Pioneer Zephyr to operate the Advanced Denver Zephyr from May 1936 (to compete with C&NW-UP's City of Denver). I believe the MTZ was assigned to TCZ at the time of the DZ trip to Peoria, but maybe the PZ trainset was available.
