My March 1969 Official Railway Guide shows that Train No. 35 from Kansas City to Omaha continued on to Billings, MT via Lincoln and No. 41. Equipment noted: SLEEPING CAR, Omaha to Alliance, NE - 6 Section, 6 Roomettes, 4 Double Bedrooms RECLINING SEAT CHAIR CARS, Kansas City to Omaha (No. 35) and Omaha to Billings (No. 41) Counterpart No. 42 ran Billings, MT to Omaha via Lincoln then continued to Kansas City as No. 36. Same equipment as on Nos. 35 & 41. My January 1967 Official Guide shows that westbound was No. 21 from KC to Omaha and No. 43 from there to Billings. Eastbound it was Nos. 42 & 20. A Dining-Lounge Car ran on No. 21 only. Schedules going back to the 1950s do not give Nos. 42 and 43 a name. David P. Jordan Dunlap, Illinois "Can anyone advise details of the overnight passenger service that ran north-westwards from Lincoln until 1969? I'm particularly seeking the number, name and destination." ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
